Waller to add Quality
The announcement from Racing New South Wales that prizemoney will be given a huge boost, gives this filly something extra for prospective owners to think about.
This filly is due to go back into work with Chris Waller after pre-training at Limitless Lodge. The bay progressed well during her first preparation under his watchful eye.
The daughter of Elusive Quality pleased Waller and being by a proven sire she can be expected to be nurtured by the talented horseman.
Elusive Quality is the sire of Camarilla (ex Camarena), winner of the Group 1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes. Then last season, Sepoy (ex Watchful), delivered another reminder when the neat chestnut colt won the Group 1 Golden Slipper & Blue Diamond double. In recording that historic win for his connections, Sepoy became the fifth juvenile to complete the double since Courtza in 1989.
Other juveniles to achieve this feat have been John's Hope (1972), Manikato (1978) and Bounding Away (1986).
Sepoy, then gave the older horses a good old fashioned beating in the Group 1 Manikato Stakes early in his classic year before he claimed the Group 1 Ascot Vale Stakes on the Victoria Racing Clubs Derby day in November last year.
This filly is from Elusive Quality's final book of coverings at a fee of $82,500 - this filly is out of mare by Zeditave and since the 2011-12 season ticked over last August, the son of The Judge is on track to surpass the $4.6million and 103 individual winners from the previous season.
Although Zeds was only lightly raced she is a proven producer being the dam of the five-time winner and Group 3 Queen's Cup placegetter, Phantom Agent (by Encounter), along with another four winners this filly is a September foal and is well grown.
Hailing from a branch of the family that's produced the AJC Australian Oaks heroine, Kenbelle (by Kenmare) and Group 2 STC Queen of the Turf Stakes winner, Kenbelle was also runner-up in the Group 1 Storm Queen Stakes and the Listed Wagga Cup retiring with more than half-a-million in earnings.
Zeditave, spent his years at Newhaven Park stud and is also the damsire of Reset and Sacred Kingdom and overall his stock have collected more than $43million.
Last month, Elusive Quality was back in the news in Singapore when Mr. Big (ex Basamaat) won the Kranji Sprint over 1200m on Easter Sunday. Six days later, Cornell (ex Ivy League) won the Listed Port Adelaide Guineas over 1800m.
Adding a little more cream to Elusive Qualities April haul - Questioning (ex Am I) won the Group 3 Earl of Seton Stakes at Newmarket in England.
Rounding out the month Mr. Big finished third in the Lion City Cup in Singapore a domestic group one event.
